The City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs announces the opening of the Gainesville Fine Arts Association art exhibition, which will run from Saturday, June 19 – Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the Thomas Center Mezzanine Gallery. A free public exhibition reception will be held Thursday, July 22 from 5 – 7 p.m. The exhibition features 38 artworks created by local artists in a variety of media.
The Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) was formed in 1923 to foster and encourage the study of the arts theoretically and practically through every medium. GFAA organizes several shows and exhibits throughout the year. More information may be found at http://gainesvillefinearts.com/.

The Thomas Center Galleries are located at 302 NE 6th Ave. Gainesville, FL 32601. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Tuesday from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. The galleries are closed Sundays and for observed holidays.
