Juror’s Choice: 2009 Regional Award Winners

The City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs announces the opening of Juror’s Choice: 2009 Regional Award Winners art exhibition, which is scheduled to run May 15 – July 11, 2010 in the Thomas Center Main Gallery. A free public reception will be held Thursday, May 27 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Thomas Center. The exhibition features over 30 works by five Florida award winners who were selected from the Thomas Center Galleries’ 2009 Regional Juried Exhibition. Last year, there were 326 entries and the exhibition was juried by Michael Burban. This year’s award winners’ exhibition features 2D and 3D work by: Anthony Ackrill, Janis Brothers, Lorelei Esser, Sandra J. Hadley and Kevin McNamara.

The Thomas Center Galleries are located at 302 NE 6th Ave. Gainesville, FL 32601. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Tuesday from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. The galleries are closed Sundays and for observed holidays.
